Ilinalta Lake Lodge Update History 2026/5/9
Main updates
I have adjusted the AI packages for the driver (the operator of that "suspicious vehicle") to resolve a conflict when using "Carriage Drivers Are Alive."
The operators of that "suspicious vehicle" now work on a two-shift system, and a dedicated break area has been added for them. Larsstar, the original operator, is now on the day shift (6:00 to 19:00). I’ve added a new operator, Leintus, to cover the night shift (19:00 to 6:00). The break area for the operators is located to the right of the main entrance.
Initially, I placed the entrance to the drivers' break area underneath the terrace where the stable is located.
Even though I carefully finalized the Navmesh from the dock to the break area, the driver refuses to head straight for the entrance during playtesting. Instead, he runs toward the Standing Stones, takes a long detour, and ends up getting stuck at the South Gate.
The entrance to the break area is about 40cm above the water level, but maybe the driver is worried about potential flooding if heavy rains cause Lake Ilinalta to rise. (Technically, they should take the shortest path, but for some reason, they just won't move as intended.)
Ultimately, I decided to place the entrance to the break area on the right side of the main entrance. This location provides more elevation from the surface of Lake Ilinalta, ensuring it remains safe from flooding even if a "backwater effect" occurs—where water accumulates at the lake's outlet during heavy rainfall. After setting up the Navmesh from the dock to this new entrance, the driver finally started moving correctly without taking any long detours.
Around the shift change (just before 6:00 and 19:00), you may see both Larsstar and Leintus at the dock at the same time. Conversely, there may be moments when neither of them is at the dock. If you can't find a driver there, please go check the break area. You can still travel by speaking to a driver inside the shack to select your destination, then simply boarding the boat seat outside.
I have set up AI packages for both drivers so they move between the break area and the dock at shift change, but they may not always behave exactly as scheduled.
Since the drivers work on a two-shift system, one is always on duty while the other is sleeping in the break area. Technically, you can still travel by giving your destination to the sleeping driver and then boarding the boat, but please let them sleep whenever possible.
Before their shift starts, you might see the driver cleaning around the dock like this.
Occasionally, you might see the driver checking the boat for any issues from underwater. (If this happens, it should return to normal after a loading screen.)
When the drivers change shifts, they sometimes end up clipping into the dock. Since this system is based on the standard carriage mechanics, the drivers are programmed to "land" on the ground upon arrival. As a result, they may clip through the pier and get stuck. This is "normal" behavior for a carriage, but it's a bit of a headache for a boat.
This happens because the landing point from the driver's seat is set lower than the dock's surface. The driver will eventually pop back up onto the dock after a short while, so please don't worry about it.
The driver's position sometimes bugs out when you exit a building. If you find them standing in a strange spot after a loading screen, don't worry—you can still interact with them normally.
If you find the driver out of position, submerged in the water, or stuck somewhere between the break area and the dock, simply entering a building or fast traveling to trigger a loading screen should fix the issue.
